Betty S. Colyer August 23, 1948 - February 28, 2008 Betty S. Colyer, 59, of Elizabethtown died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Colyer retired in 2000 from Cummins Engine Co. where she had worked 34 years. She was a member of the Office Committee Union and Austin Church of Christ, and enjoyed scrap booking, crocheting, reading, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Born Aug. 23, 1948, Mrs. Colyer was the daughter of Alex J. and Ruby Lewallen Singleton. She married Lloyd Colyer Dec. 21, 1968. Survivors include her husband; her mother, of Crothersville; a son, John T. Colyer of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a daughter, Amy M. (Parnelli) Baker of Columbus; brothers, Danny (Carolyn) Singleton of Columbus and Dennis (Jolie) Singleton of Egg Harbor, N.J.; sisters, Brenda (Frank) LaMaster of Scottsburg, Karen (Larry) Smallwood of Norman and Debbie (Walter) Howington of Corbin, Ky.; grandchildren, Kaley, Kennedi and Jace Baker; and 26 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Charlie Johnson officiating. VISITATION: 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
