Beva Gail Armstrong Robbins, 71 of Fayetteville, Georgia and a former resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed away November 18, 2021 at her home. Beva was born, January 2, 1950 in Columbus to Cona L. Whittenberg Armstrong. Early in her life, Beva was interested in instrumental and vocal music and studied both at Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois. Although she worked as a paralegal secretary for a law firm most of her career, she continued to pursue music. Beva was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbus, where she was the choir director for both the adult and youth choirs at one time. She also taught piano lessons and endeared herself to a large youth group at the church. In 1976, Beva married James Robbins and the two made their home in Fayetteville, Georgia. In Fayetteville, Beva continued to teach piano lessons and sing for weddings and funerals. She is remembered for being a sweet and loving sister whose music still resonates. Surviving Beva are brothers, Bruce (Cheryl) Armstrong of Columbus and Victor (Patty) Armstrong of Hartsville, Indiana; a sister Chrystal Bone of Missouri; nephews, Bradley Armstrong, Jon Bone and William Bone; a niece Lori (Aaron) Trevey, and their son Michael, a great-nephew that Beva referenced as her own grandchild. She is preceded by her loving husband, her mother and her nephew, Jeffery Armstrong. Arrangements for Beva are being handled by the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. There are no public services planned for Beva at this time. A private burial was in Garland Brook. Donations may be made in her memory through the funeral home to the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbus. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. The Armstrong family was a neighbor when I was young. I remember Beva singing and having a beautiful voice!! Sally (Mouser) Thompson

  2. I am so sorry to the Armstrong family. I have such fond memories when we lived in the same neighborhood, just carefree kids having fun. Beva was always so kind to me growing up. I remember how musically talented she was and had such a beautiful voice . I am sure she is singing in the heavens in the big choir now. Praying for comfort for the Armstrong family.

  3. What a beautiful soul! This woman and her mother endeared themselves to a robust youth group at the First Church of the Nazarene in Columbus many years ago now. She was a doll, an excellent choir director and a loving piano teacher. She helped shape many of our lives when we were just 12 to 14 years old. We have always loved the Armstrong family and our hearts go out to all of them at the loss of this dear, dear woman.
