Bill Buchanan, 80, of San Diego, Calif., passed away Monday, October 1, 2012, surrounded by family. Bill was born on September 8, 1932, to the late Wilford and Gertrude Buchanan. A graduate of Vevay High School, he worked for Cummins, Inc. for 38 years. He was an avid golfer and had a true passion for the game. Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Norma Buchanan of San Diego; children, Melinda Guthrie, Diana Buchanan, Mark Buchanan, Robert Buchanan, Penny (David) Brueggemann, Michael (Wendy) Wheeler and Kelly (Mike) Rocchio; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Sharon Dorries and Roger Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to San Diego Hospice Foundation at 4311 Third Avenue, San Diego, CA 9210, or online at www.sdhospice.org. Local arrangements were entrusted to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Bill was born on September 8, 1932, to the late Wilford and Gertrude Buchanan. A graduate of Vevay High School, he worked for Cummins, Inc. for 38 years. He was an avid golfer and had a true passion for the game.
