A difficult time for all of us in the family, but we can take comfort in the knowledge that Janie is now with our Lord. Billie Jane was a wonderful example of showing what love for family is all about. I will miss her almost daily phone calls that brightened my day with memories of our childhood and updates of current family activities. She holds a special place in my heart and I will cherish the love she has shown me, until we meet again. Flo and I send heartfelt sympathy to Ken, Jodi, and Jan and their families, I am privileged to be her brother…… JACK

My Mother has passed in 2017 Ellie and her husband was Mike we met Janie when she worked with my mom Ellie at IGA years ago. Through all of those years we had all good times together. My name is Dorothy Smoot Mike and Ellie’s daughter. Janie was fun to be around and we all loved her. Bless all of you and comfort you through this time. Janie always had a smile and a laugh and when everybody got going it was always fun getting together!
Billie has been a part of our family for four generations. She grew up in Belleville, Illinois with our parents Maggie Abston and Earl Reichling. Together they saw each other through all the hardships of growing up in a world dealing with wars and depression. When Maggie had Steve, Billie became a part of Steve’s life and watched him grow with each visit. Our children grew up visiting with Billie every time she came to Belleville. When our grandchildren were born, it was Billie who insisted on making our granddaughter Piper her first Easter dress. No matter where she has traveled, there has always been golden thread running between our hearts in Belleville and Billie’s. The flame on Billie’s candle of life has been extinguished, but knowing how strong her relationship was with Jesus, we are certain she is very busy in heaven updating Archie and her friends!
