Billy W. Hampton January 26, 1938 - April 14, 2008 Billy W. Hampton, 70, of Beam Road died at 5:16 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Hampton worked at Cosco for 12 years then was a brick mason for 33 years. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a tank operator for two years. He attended Lowell General Baptist Church. Born in Whitesburg, Ky., Jan. 26, 1938, Mr. Hampton was the son of Dewey George and Bonnie Caudill Hampton. He married Emily Adams Nov. 21, 1959. Survivors include his wife; brothers, Darrell Hampton of Arizona, Dale Jr. Hampton and Ronnie G. Hampton, both of Columbus; and sisters, Betty Dodd of Taylorsville, Rosa Deal of Indianapolis and Brenda F. Forgey of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herbert H. Hampton; and sisters, Wilma Jean Harden and Zamilee Banta. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Poynter and Brother Ronnie Hampton officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Thursday. BURIAL: Old Union Cemetery. Billy W. Hampton, 70, of Beam Road died at 5:16 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
