She was a 1975 graduate of Columbus East High School and currently employed by Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family and her cat, Camille. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Dick Scholl officiating. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, P.O. Box 62066, Dunham, North Carolina, 27715 or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th Street, Columbus, Indiana, 47201.Survivors include her mother, Helen; son, Andrew P. Garland of Greenwood; and her sisters, Gloria (E.R. Gray) Curry, Robin (Jeff Marsh) Curry, Nina Curry and Amy (Charles) Dubois, all of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her father.

  5. I worked with Brenda for several years at Toyota. I am sorry to hear of her passing; grateful she is no longer suffering. My thoughts go to her son, Andrew, and her extended family.

  7. How can such a tragedy repeat itself in a family? I know that the Lord has them both in his fold and they are together, forever!

  8. There are not enough words to express the pain and heartache I feel in loosing my best friend. Little did I know that when we met 27 years ago that we would become the friends that we did. I was truly blessed to when you came into my life. we have shared many laughs and tears together along the way being there together for each other.You haved raised a wonderful son, I know you are proud of him and will always be looking down on him. Thank you for your wonderful friendship and love. You will forever be in my heart. Fly high my friend and save me a place up there beside you.

  9. I am truly saddened & my heart goes out to Andrew & all of Brenda’s family. I know she was a very kind sweet lady. I will miss her deeply. All I’ve talked to have the same sentiments. She will be missed by many.
