Brent S. Muellenberg June 18, 1964 - February 21, 2008 Brent S. Muellenberg, 43, of Utica, New York and formerly of Indiana passed away Thursday February 21, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in New York. Brent was born June 18, 1964 in Columbus, Indiana the son of Douglas and Mary Foist Muellenberg. He was a sixteen year U.S. Veteran serving in the National Guard and the Army, retiring as a Captain in 2000. Brent earned his Masters Degree and PhD from Indiana University. He was employed with Stryker Orthopedics in New York, as well as having lived New Castle, where he was employed as the Henry County Health Officer. Surviving are his parents, Douglas and Mary of Columbus; his girlfriend, Kristy Hammonds of Utica, New York and her children, Zaiah, Maya, and Hanna; one brother, Bruce Muellenberg, of Columbus; nieces, Robin (Jim) Line, Karen (Casey) Matern of Columbus; aunts, Eva May McMillan and Eileen (Michael) Bennett of Columbus, and great nieces, great nephews and several cousins; close friends, Bill Church of Utica, Jane Waldron of Utica, and Kelly DeRider of Barneveld, New York. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Muellenberg; grandparents, Linuel (Ted) and Eva Jones Foist of Columbus, and Frank and Emiline Muellenberg of South Dakota; an uncle, Joseph McMillan and a cousin, Cynthia (McMillan) Gabbard of Columbus. Funeral Information FUNERAL SERVICES: Saturday, March 1, 2008, 4:00 P.M at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus. VISITATION: Friday February 29, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus. There was a visitation at Nunn & McGrath Funeral Directors in Utica, New York this past Sunday.
