Brett Allen Long

Brett Allen Long, 60, of Columbus, died at 3:55 p.m. on February 1, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Brett was born May 19, 1963, in Columbus, the son of Thomas Edward and Linda Ann Eickleberry Long. Brett was a lifelong resident of Columbus. He formerly worked in Construction in Roofing. Brett enjoyed watching racing and was a Tony Stewart fan. In his younger years, he loved camping and fishing. He was very fond of his dog, Zoey. Brett was a simple man of few friends, but he held his friends near and dear to his heart, especially his neighbors, Daniel, and Stephanie Baker. A loving brother and uncle, Brett will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society through the funeral home. Survivors include his brother, Larry (Annette S. Hoover) Long, of Columbus; nephew, Jeremy Weed; niece, Veronica Sievers; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
