C. Evans Hoeltke July 29, 1920 - March 17, 2009 C. Evans Hoeltke, 88, of East 25th Street died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Hoeltke was born and raised in Bartholomew County and was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church where he served as one of the foundation directors and as a board member for St. Peters Lutheran School. A Coast Guard veteran, he also was a member of Farm Bureau and Modern Farmers and had served on the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Board and Clay Township Election Board. He enjoyed woodworking and attending his grandchildren and great grandchildrens activities. Born July 29, 1920, Mr. Hoeltke was the son of Otto and Edna Rittman Hoeltke. He married Mary Jane Arnholt Oct. 15, 1944. Survivors include his wife; sons, Larry (Mary Jane) Hoeltke of Columbus and Dennis (Janice) Hoeltke of Columbus; a daughter, Beverly (Jim) Pence of Hope; grandchildren, Angela (Damon) Clark, Jeff (Kim) Hoeltke, Elizabeth (Nathan) Burbrink, April Hoeltke, Chad Hoeltke, Ryan Hoeltke, Jeremy Hoeltke, Melissa (Andy) Dempsey, Amy Pence, Jason Pence and Kevan Pence; a brother, Ed (Nancy) Hoeltke of Columbus; a sister, Nelda Voelz of Columbus; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Malinsky officiating. VISITATION: 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
