Carl F. Hoover, 72, of Sims Court,passed away on May 21, 2011, at his home. He was born May 21, 1939, the son of Harley and Edell Pittman Hoover. He was the father of Lee, Kim, John, Tim, Scott and Chris Hoover and had 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers,Jim, Roy and Harold Hoover; and sisters, Mary Burton, Ruth Walls, Esther Lawles, Margaret Powers, Norma Begley, Ruby Coddington and Patty Whittington. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Evans. Carl was a paratrooper in the Army 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles and took great pride inserving his country. He loved to walk and many remember him from his walks around Columbus. He was involved in his senior group. He loved very much, gave moreand took little in return. Carl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Ballard officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery with military rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
