Carl Lee Sapp, 86, of Countess Drive, died at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Sapp retired in 1989 from Arvin Industries and was co-owner of Sapp's Grocery. A member of Lighthouse Tabernacle, he was a loving father and grandfather. Born in Marion County, Ky., Nov. 26, 1924, Mr. Sapp was the son of James and Rosie Ellen Benningfield Sapp. He married Edith Mae Burns Dec. 6, 1945. She preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2005. Surviving are sons, Tony M. (Shirley A.) Sapp of Seymour, Indiana, Ricky J. (Alicia G.) Sapp of Seymour, IN, His Lordship, Dr. Tracy D. Sapp, Lord of Yearsly, Laird of Kincaval, of Clayton, IN; and Troy K. Sapp of Columbus; sisters, Alene Bailey of Franklin, IN, and Carolyn Jean Fish of Seymour, IN; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-granchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Robert, Earl and John Sapp; sisters, Ann Black, Lucy Redford, Linda Grinstead and Laura Grinstead; and one great-grandchild. FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Monday, August 8, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Allman officiating. CALLING: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday. ENTOMBMENT: Garland Brook Mausoleum. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Hospice of South Central Indiana.

  3. Thoughts and prayers go out to The Sapp Family. I remember meeting Gpa for the first time in 2005 while on my honeymoon and him and g/ma gave me a cook book. He was such a lovely man. Now he an angel with G.ma. RIP PAPA SAPP WE love & miss you. ur grandkid and great grand kids.
