Carl Stevens November 06, 1925 - December 14, 2008 Carl Stevens, 83, of Taylorsville died at 4:24 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Stevens retired from Silgas where he was a truck driver. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Taylorsville Baptist Church, an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his garden and woodworking. Born in Somerset, Ky., Nov. 6, 1925, Mr. Stevens was the son of Oscar and Lizzie Ping Stevens. He married Phyllis G. Bullock May 27, 1948. Survivors include his wife; sons, Jerry Chuck (Debbie) Stevens and Jeffery L. Stevens, both of Columbus; daughters, Jeanie Thompson of Taylorsville, Debra (Jeff) Boles of Edinburgh and Tonya R. (Terrill) Paradise of Columbus; brothers, Danny Thomas Stevens and Jessie Stevens, both of Somerset, Ky.; sisters, Reba Jean Garrett and Mary Lee Foster, both of Somerset, Ky.; grandchildren, Carrie (Keith) Vaughn, James (Alisa Pedron) Stevens, Jennifer Harper, Kyle H. (Nina) Stevens, Kimberly Lee (Jason) Goins and Bailey, Libby and Jackson Paradise; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Margaret E. Stevens; two brothers; and one sister. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2008 and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday. FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Collett officiating. BURIAL: Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
