Carol Jean James

Carol Jean James, 66, of Columbus, passed away on June 22, 2022, at home. She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on November 30, 1955, to Dr. Carroll F. James, and Imogene Mix James.
Carol was a very loving woman. She enjoyed spending her time fishing, playing dice with her friends, going to yard sales, and helping other people. For the last few years of her life, she would spend much of her time helping care for her mother. Her sense of humor and loving personality will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her mother, Imogene James; children, Edward (Jessica Williams) Wells, of Henry County, Indiana, and Kristyn (Mike Cool) Plummer, of Edinburgh, Indiana; brother, Keith (Ann) James, of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren, Gage Plummer, Kaleb Williams, Faith Barrett, Harley Barrett, and Graclyn Barrett; great-grandchild, Stiles Plummer; nephews, Kevin James, and David James; niece, Amelia James; and her four-legged companion, Opal.
Carol is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Carroll F. James; brother, L. Alan James; and grandchild, Kiegan Frazee.
A funeral service is at 4 pm on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the calling hours taking place before the service from 1 pm to 4 pm, also at the funeral home. Jim Shoaf will officiate the service. In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation is planned.
Donations may be made in Carol’s name to the Indiana Heart Association.

Carol Jean honey I’m missing you like crazy. I look forward to all of our late night talks and laughs. You were an amazing woman. You left a place on may heart when I was 3 or 4. That place just got bigger and bigger as the years have went by. I love you RoRo. I’m sure daddy , uncle Logie and Pete are picking on you so very much. You all take care of each other. Where do I begin,. So many years ago, 1997 to be exact you were the first friend I had when I moved to Taylorsville,. So many adventures,. The Mess Hall Cafe,. Grandbabies being born ect,. Our Daughters becoming sisters ,Out paths went different ways,. But my heart still hurts,. I will always cherish the memories,. Rest in peace my friend.
I met Carol in Taylorsville. Russell Cochran & I were regular customers at Waffle & Steak, where I also met Mary ,Jenniffer Kirkpatrick-Albertson, also met Carol’s Daughter Kristyn & her family. She stopped by on occasion and work on her fishing pole to go fishing. I enjoyed or talks,we played games online. I will never forget her. Rest in peace my friend. @–‘-,-
I met u when I was 16 u took me in as your daughter and to this day u have been there for me one memory I have Is goin to the boat with and u was hitting good and u said u was going to climb the slot and a head stand if u hit big
