Carroll Lee Vaughn

Carroll Lee Vaughn, 81, of Columbus, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Carroll was born on September 7, 1938, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Samuel Vaughn and Edna Wesley Vaughn. He married Melissa A. “Missi” Wetzel on September 17, 1984. Carroll was a Marine veteran and a retired truck driver. He loved sports, riding his motorcycle and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and Tony Stewart. Carroll’s family said he never met a stranger. Calling will be 11 am until 1 pm Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with military honors at 1 by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Survivors include his wife, Missi; daughters, Jessica (Daniel) Burchett of Columbus, Lyndsee (Carlos Delgado) Vaughn of Columbus, Toni (Bob) Jolley of Oregon, Lisa Vaughn of Columbus, Tami (Larry) Anderson of North Vernon, Vicki Neurer of Taylorsville and Kelli Morrissey of California; a brother, Charles Edward Vaughn of Avon; grandchildren, Keegan Hill, McKayla Merino, Brooklynn Merino, Gaven Lopez, Alexis Duckworth, David (Nicole) Noriega, Christopher (Sandra) Neurer, Rodney Varela, Gabriel (Sara) Fuentes, Michael (Rachel) Neurer, Rhonda Bacon, Rashell (Colby) Nelson, Kristina Pope, Tiffany (Josh) Coots, Alisha Varela, Carla Fewell, Jessica Bernardino and Carroll is also survived by several great-grandchildren. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Vaughn and Edna Herrin; a brother, Donnie Vaughn and a niece, Kim Stockrahm.
