Catherine Evelyn Turner May 23, 1915 - September 23, 2007 Catherine Evelyn Payne Turner, 92, was born May 23, 1915 in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Roscoe Clarence Payne and Ellen Scott Payne. She attended school there until her freshman year, at which time her parents moved to California. After attending her sophomore and junior year in California she moved to back to Indiana. Catherine married Alden Macy Turner April 19, 1942. After her children were raised, she reupholstered furniture while living in Indianapolis. They moved to Shelbyville, Franklin, Columbus and then Las Vegas. Catherine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved to sew, crochet, and play cards. She was a devoted mother of Richard (Pat) Bunnell of Cadiz, KY, Shirley Joanne (James) West of Columbus, IN and Steven W. (Bobby) Turner of Las Vegas, NV. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Ellen Payne ; her husband, Alden Macy Turner on June 22, 1995; brothers, Clyde, Lloyd, and Lawrence Payne; sisters, Inez Taylor, Eunice Patterson and Lelia Albertson. Funeral Information FUNERAL: noon Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Columbus, IN with Dennis White officiating. VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
