Charles B. "Fuzz" Roark
February 23, 1947 ~ June 11, 2025
Charles B. "Fuzz" Roark, known affectionately to his friends and family as Fuzz, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, at his home in Fountain, FL. Born on February 23, 1947, in the small town of Vicco, KY, Fuzz grew up surrounded by the warmth and camaraderie of a close-knit community, which shaped his friendly and outgoing nature. He married Sondra A. Deitz on June 10, 1979.
Fuzz was a proud veteran of the United States Army and he embarked on a career that would eventually lead him to the Cummins Engine Company. Fuzz dedicated many years of service to Cummins, where his commitment and hard work were well recognized. He retired in 1999, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and a multitude of friendships forged over the years.
Beyond his professional life, Fuzz was a proud and active member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Club. His involvement with these organizations was not just a pastime but a reflection of his unwavering commitment to community service and fellowship.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Billie Goodner officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery with military honors provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may to the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include his wife, Sondra A. Roark; children, Robert “Jo” Hayes and William (Veronica) Hayes both of Columbus, IN, Jonathan Roark of No. Vernon, IN, Leatha Bugh of Bedford, IN; brothers, Gary Roark of Jeff, KY, Ronnie Roark of Vicco, KY and Raymond Amburgey of Murfreesboro, TN; several grandchildren also survive.
Fuzz was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Amburgey and grandson, Joey Hayes.

Uncle Fuzzy was soooo loved. Since I was a baby and he taught me how to cuss, he’s had a special place in my heart, even over the years and many states apart. Aunt Sandy, all of our love and prayers are with you. Hugs and kisses. Love Roberta (BJ) and family
