Charles E. Chatty Wendell, 75, of 19th Street, died at 10:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Chatty graduated from Columbus High School in 1950. He was employed by Cummins Engine Company after high school until he retired.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Indianapolis Valley Shrine and enjoyed fishing.
Born May 2, 1932 in Shelby County, he was the son of Russell and Enid Davisson Wendell.
Survivors include brothers, James F. Wendell of Bayton, Texas and Donald R. Wendell of Bythe, Ca.; a sister, Marianne Wendell Arnholt of Columbus; five nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Howard and John Wendell.

SERVICES: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Barbara Grace officiating.
VISITATION: 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery
