Charles E. Sanders, 83, of Tulip Drive, died 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006 at the Hospice Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Sanders was manager at Kroger, moving to Columbus in 1961. He previously had lived in Muncie and Kokomo. He was a 50-year member of both the Walton Masonic Lodge # 423 and the Walton Eastern Star and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
He loved to bowl and enjoyed golfing.
Born Feb. 23, 1922 in Coal City, Mr. Sanders was the son of Bert L. and Ruth A. Price Sanders. He married Annabelle Saylors Nov. 7, 1942. She survives.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. (Helen) Sanders of Connersville; a daughter, Julie A. Sanders of Columbus, grandchildren, Aimee (Cameron) Butz, Anne Sanders, Shawn (Christina) Henley and Lindsey (Matt) Ross; great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Madison Ross, and a brother, Tom (Pat) Sanders of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Sanders.
Funeral Information
FUNERAL: Will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Kamman officiating.
VISITATION: Will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. A Masonic memorial service will be held Sunday evening.
