  Charles Edward Martin, Jr., age 77, of Columbus, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday December 26, 2018 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He was born March 9, 1941 in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late Charles Edward Martin, Sr. and Bernice Combs Martin. Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War and upon his honorable discharge, moved to Columbus.  He retired in 2004 from Cummins, Inc after 30 years of service.  He enjoyed building model airplanes, gardening and coin collecting. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday December 31, 2018 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with visitation to be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Following the service, he will be laid to rest in the East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown with military honors provided by the Morgan County Veterans Honor Guard.  Memorial contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or a favorite charity the donor may have through the funeral home. Charlie is survived by his wife, Saundra K. Royce Perry Martin; sons, Greg Martin of North Vernon and Chuck Martin of Owensboro, Kentucky; step sons, Brett (Jeanie) Perry of Franklin, Joe Perry of Owensboro, Kentucky and Dana Perry of Columbus; step daughters, Julie Giggy of Columbus and Lisa (Jim) Spray of Greenwood; brother, Robert Martin of Mt. Washington, Kentucky; sisters, Ava (Craig) Reynolds of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Carol Kincer of Florida and Faye Adams of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren Summer, Christopher and William Martin and Zoey Moore; 24 step grandchildren; 36 step great grandchildren and 6 step great-great grandchildren.   7. Pawpaw i miss you and love you so much, i still cant believe i live all this time without you. i cant even go to school on your birthday or the day you passed, you were my grandpa, my best friend, my favorite person.
