Charles H. Sites
December 15, 1935 ~ July 11, 2019
Charles Herbert Sites, 83, of Columbus, Indiana, died peacefully on July 11, 2019. He passed at Heritage House of Greensburg, following a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, and was surrounded by family and friends.
Charles was born to Charles H. Sites and Ada Arras Sites, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1935. He was especially close to his grandmother, Lillian Oliver Sites.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lora M. Sites. He is also survived by his 10 children and step-children (Charles, James, Sarah, Gary, Brian, John, Chuck, Anita, Kimberly, and John). He also was a grandfather to 28 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Charles loved his family and loved spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Sites and Ada Sites; a sister, Charlene Buffa
Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy, and worked as a meat cutter for A&P in Pittsburgh. He later worked as a truck driver in Houston, Texas and Columbus, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling in his RV, wood working, and of course…the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am-1:30 pm on Monday, July 15 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus, with the service immediately following. Burial, with Military Honors will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Heritage House staff and Our Hospice for their effort and dedication.






I have known my daddy for 61 years I love him and I will miss him he holds a special Place in my heart and I know I hold a special place in his I will miss you daddy
So sorry to hear of Mr Sites passing. Although we are far away still thought of him often.
