Charlotte Kay Mays

Charlotte Kay Mays, 49, of Nicholas Lane, died February 18, 2019, at her home. Charlotte was born July 27, 1969, in Columbus, the daughter of Lee Roy Jones and Ellen D. Garrity Couch.   When Charlotte was younger, she and her cousin Tommy Young were always called “Pebbles and Bam Bam” by those around them. She loved hummingbirds, pandas, Christmastime, collecting jewelry, as well as her purple Grand Am with the word “Pebbles” across thewindshield. She also loved yellow roses, cardinals and making jokes. You knew Charlotte loved you when she started giving you a hard time and playing jokes. Charlotte especially loved her kids and grandchildren. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2019, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. There will be no services. Survivors include her mother, Ellen D. Jones of Columbus; sons, Robert W. Cornett of Jackson, Georgia, and Donald Wayne Mays of Griffin, Georgia, and a daughter, Patricia Kay Mays of McDonough, Georgia; brothers, Charles Robert Lee “Chucky” Jones of Columbus and Toby Lee Allen Jones of Stockbridge, Georgia, and sisters, Julie Jones Calhoone and Helen Stanley Calhoone, both of Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Jones and a cousin, Tommy Young (Bam Bam from Pebbles and Bam Bam).
