Christopher Alan Purdy, 33, of Bargersville, died at 5:29 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2019, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Chris was born September 4, 1985 in Columbus, the son of Rick and Laura (Collins) Purdy. Chris made everyone around him feel good with his infectious, amazing smile. He will be remembered for his kind heart and caring personality. Chris loved his children. He was very outgoing, athletic and enthusiastic about sports. Chris was very artistic in his painting abilities just like his grandmother, Dorothy. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music. Chris will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2019 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Don Demas officiating. Calling will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery located in Edinburgh. Memorials may be made to Laura Purdy on behalf of Chris’ Children. Survivors include his parents, Rick Purdy, Laura (Tim Akin) Purdy; sons, Elijah Alan Purdy, Zaidyn Ryan Purdy and Grayson Purdy all of Columbus; a daughter, Amira Lynne Purdy of Dupo, IL; brothers, Brandon (Jessica) Purdy, Landon Purdy both of Franklin and Derrick Corley of Bargersville; an honorary aunt, Debbie Anderson; grandparents, Gay Purdy and Aileen Collins; nephews, Calyx and Tristan Purdy; a niece, Carmyn Purdy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Dorothy Collins, and Jerry Purdy. Arrangements are provided by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.   2. Chris I loved you so much. I’m only happy because I know your not suffering anymore!! I know you will always look after your kids. The love you showed all of them including calyx Carmyn and Tristan was amazing. They will always love and miss their uncle Chris💙May you be at home and at peace. Help us heal from this heartache. Brandon loves you so much. We promise to always be their for the boys and miss Amira.

    • Chris this is a sad moment… we was in anderson together doing the sober thing painting Grace House 3 together. The laughs we had ill never forget. R.I.P Chris missed but never forgotten
