Cletah Lovelace December 31, 1938 - December 20, 2009 Cletah Lovelace, 70, of Sunset Drive in Columbus, Indiana died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Care Facility. Cletah graduated from Columbus High School in 1956. She then married Richard L. Lovelace on August 17, 1957. She was employed by Cummins Engine Company until she joined her husband as a full-time Partner & Office Manager of Lovelace Electric Co. Inc. She worked in the family business until November of 2009. Cletah was highly active in the Girls Scouts of America. She joined in 1967 as a Girl Scout Leader. She has since served in many capacities; served on the Board; Product Sales Chairman for 15 years; served on the Finance Committee. She was a life member of the Tulip Trace Girl Scout Council, now known as Central Indiana Girl Scouts. She was the recipient of the Thanks Badge and the Thanks Badge II. Cletah also served on the Lutheran Lake Resort Board, where she was twice selected as the President. She also served in several organizations, including: Zonta International where she served as Committee Chairman; Columbus Business & Professional Womens Club where she served in several capacities including President from 1984 1985, Vice President from 1983 1984, Treasurer from 1982 1983. Cletah was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Columbus and was also a member of Mary Martha Circle at St. Peters Lutheran Church from 1981 until the time of her death. Cletah was born December 31, 1938, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of George and Lois Lacey Baldwin. Survivors include a daughter, Richelle Shelly (Glenn) Wakefield of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Travis (Jessica) Wakefield and Jennifer (Doug) Clark; great-grandchildren; Sierra (Drysdale) Wakefield and Morgan Clark; mother-in-law, Blanche Snyder Hendershot; brother-in-law, Charles (Janis) Lovelace; cousin, Beth Gross (Mark) Dilly. Cletah was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana, with Pastor Mark Tieke and Pastor John L. Beabout officiating. VISITATION: Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. BURIAL: Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana. Cletah Lovelace, 70, of Sunset Drive in Columbus, Indiana died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Care Facility.
Cletah graduated from Columbus High School in 1956. She then married Richard L. Lovelace on August 17, 1957. She was employed by Cummins Engine Company until she joined her husband as a full-time Partner & Office Manager of Lovelace Electric Co. Inc. She worked in the family business until November of 2009.
Cletah was highly active in the Girls Scouts of America. She joined in 1967 as a Girl Scout Leader.
