Cletha Faye Bird January 12, 1934 - June 01, 2010 Cletha Faye Bird, 76, of Flintwood Drive, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Bird enjoyed quilting and many crafts. One of her handmade quilts, Flower Basket, is on permanent display at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Ky. She also made the clothing for her large collection of dolls and was an avid bird watcher. She was a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church in Jennings County. Born in Jennings County Jan. 12, 1934, Mrs. Bird was the daughter of Cecil A. and Crystal L. Pierce Smith. She married Donald Milton Bird in 1961. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1999. Survivors include a son, Randall B. Bird of Norcross, Ga.; and sisters, Carol L. Fortner of Fishers, Claire (James) Settle of Columbus and Anne Smith of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Saturday at New Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Connie K. Barr officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and at the church from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. Donations Information Memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel United Methodist Church.
