Clyde C. Marsh May 30, 1928 - October 15, 2009 Clyde C. Marsh, 81, of Road 100S, died at 9:52 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Marsh was a firefighter for 32 years, retiring from Columbus Fire Department in 1982 after serving in many positions, including battalion chief.He and his wife, Shirley, wintered in Bradenton, Fla., for 17 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, football and NASCAR and was an avid reader. He especially enjoyed Deadwood, S.D. A veteran of the Army, he had served overseas. Born May 30, 1928, in Columbus, Mr. Marsh was the son of Homer and Ethel Poland Marsh. He married Shirley K. Sweeney Sept. 28, 1957. Survivors include his wife; sons, Jeffrey (Sheri) Marsh of Columbus, Steven Marsh of Deadwood, S.D., and David Marsh of Munroe Falls, Ohio; daughters, Michele Marsh of Columbus and Amy (Rick) Thompson of Goshen; brothers, Homer D. (Gretchen) Marsh of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jerry G. (Hazel) Marsh of Reddington; grandchildren, Amanda Lister, Ashley Marsh, Lukas Thompson, Tyler Marsh, Sophie Thompson, Melissa Helwig and Dayla Ford; seven great-grandchildren; one niece; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Marsh; and an infant brother, Michael Marsh. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Corinne Hodges officiating. CALLING: 1:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
