"Smoky" Pedigo, 85, of South National Road, died at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Clyde was born April 5, 1930, in Knob Lick, Kentucky, the son of Henry and Mary Berthie Pedigo. He married Ruth DeSpain Pedigo May 28, 1957. She preceded him in death February 4, 2006. When Clyde was younger, he was a farmer in Kentucky before moving to Columbus where he continued to farm for many years. He was employed by Vernco for 10 years and and retired from Cosco in 1994 after 28 years of service. In 1995, he opened Pedigo's Lawn Mowing, cutting grass for 15 years. He also was previously employed as a bus driver and taxi driver. Clyde was a member of Carpenters Union Local 1155. He enjoyed bluegrass music and was one of the original members of the "Cow Town Ramblers" bluegrass band. He also played music with Elvan Rooks and the Bluegrass Ramblers and Bill Monroe, as well as Lonzo and Oscar. Survivors include his sons, William D. (Macia) Pedigo of Columbus and Timothy W. (Beth) Pedigo of Middletown, Indiana; daughter, Lea A. Pedigo of Columbus; grandchildren, Dustan Pedigo, Amber Hall, Vicky Pedigo and Abby Walters; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew, Joann Moon of Taylorsville and Randall Jessie of Dupont; and great-niece and nephews, Jose, Lilyana and Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth; a daughter, Tammy Lou Pedigo; sisters, Mattie Bennett and Elma Pike; and six half brothers.
