Coy Lee Duncan September 21, 1918 - April 06, 2006 Coy Lee Duncan, 87, of North Brooks Street died at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Duncan retired from Bartholomew County Courthouse where he worked as a maintenance engineer. The day he retired in 1983 was declared Coy Duncan Day by the mayor of Columbus. He served with the Army in the European Theater during World War II and was known for flying his flag daily in honor of those who served our country. He was a member of East Columbus Christian Church. Born in Persia, Tenn., Sept. 21, 1918, Mr. Duncan was the son of Dow and Sallie Webster Duncan. He married Dorothy Inez Brickey Dec. 15, 1945. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Donna Jean (James) Rueff of Taylorsville; and grandchildren, Randall Matthew Rueff of Taylorsville and Brent Andrew Rueff of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Duncan; a half brother, Chester Duncan; and a half sister, Danner Duncan. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2006 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
