November 14, 1959 ~ February 12, 2023
Danny Frank Gassaway, 63, of Elizabethtown, died at 6:50 p.m. on February 12, 2023 at his home.
Danny was born November 14, 1959 in Columbus, the son of Frank H. Gassaway and Helen M. (Michael) Gassaway. He married Robin L. Brock on August 15, 1980.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. Danny’s joy for his entire life was riding a motorcycle. He also enjoyed 4-wheeling, was a race car enthusiast, and spending time on the dirt drag race track. Anything with speed Danny was there. Danny loved the outdoors, and loved going to the mountains of Tennessee. He enjoyed mowing the grass and riding his tractor, but his favorite thing was spending time with his granddaughters, Mia and Taya. Danny was the owner of Gassaway Lake and never met a stranger. He was a trustworthy and dependable gentleman with a mischievous smile and a twinkle in his eye. Danny was an all-around good person who will be greatly missed.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Eli Johnson officiating. Calling will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
