David retired after 35 years of service with the National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, biking, running and swimming. He also studied the Bible, enjoyed reading and camping. David loved spending time with his family. Born in Marion Nov. 30, 1948, David was the son of Donald Evans and Ruth Carter Evans. He married Nita J. Phelps Feb. 5, 1977. She survives. Also surviving are daughters, Erin (Zechariah) Algood of Bloomfield, IN, and Ashly (Aaron) Stacy of Austin, TX; a brother, Dennis Evans of Marion, IN; sisters, Jane (Fritz) Wines of Palm Coast, FL, Catha (Paul) Hisey of Marion, IN, and Donna (James) Bishop of Marion, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Katie Lynn Evans.
