David M. Hull, 59 of Columbus passed away at 1 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2020 at his home. David was born in Columbus on October 2, 1960 to Dale L. Hull and Martha Jane Reeves Hull. He married Karen M. Makowski on September 26, 1981.
David graduated from Indiana University. He was a founding partner of Hull&Knarr LLP. He was an avid cyclist. He used his love for cycling philanthropically, biking across the United States and around Lake Victoria in Africa for charity. He enjoyed storytelling, spending time with his girls, and sharing his love of music, space and history. He changed the lives of many, never seeking a thank you, only a smile.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Gaali(https://goodgaali.org/donate) which uses the clean, green power of the bicycle to bring badly needed necessities, loving care, and comfort to those who are hurting in Uganda.
Survivors include his wife Karen Hull; daughters, Kate (Zane) Jensen, Meg (Nathan) Bellami, Claire (Harrison) Scgalski and Sarah (Chester) Hull all of Columbus; a sister, Susan Jones of Columbus; a grandchild, Grace Bellami.
David was preceded in death by his father, mother, Susan Jane Hull, his step-mother and Terri Hull Baker, his sister.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

I had the pleasure of working with David as a colleague in the same organization and later in a complementary role when he started Hull & Knarr. We reconnected a few years ago through our work and our involvement in 24 Foundation. He was truly a light in our world. I pray for comfort and peace for Karen and the family as David makes his journey home.
David and I were co-workers and friends at George S. Olive. He had the kindest heart and a beautiful spirit. My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

David was a wonderful inspiration and generous friend. God used David in amazing ways in cycling across America and Africa. His generous giving and connections made these Ride for Hope Coast to Coast events really incredible that made significant impact on hundreds and hundreds of orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa. All of us in Christ’s Hope International mourn with Karen and family’s loss, yet rejoice in all that David’s life touched and blessed. Dave Kase, International Director, Christ’s Hope International
