David Wayne Wells

David Wayne Wells, 78, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Brickyard Healthcare in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Columbus, IN on January 29, 1946 to Elizabeth Hall Wininger. David's career as a truck driver spanned many years, culminating in his retirement from Central Tri-Axle Inc. in 2008. His work was not just a job but a testament to his reliability and commitment to his colleagues and the community he served. His association with fellow drivers and industry professionals was marked by mutual respect and camaraderie. Beyond his professional life, David was an avid fan of NASCAR, a passion that fueled many of his weekends. He found solace and excitement at the Twin City Raceway in North Vernon and the Brownstown Speedway, where he was a regular fixture, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and fellow racing aficionados. There will be no services at this time, cremation is planned. Survivors include his former wife of 27 years, Megan Manley; step-daughters, Elizabeth and Angel Wells; also several nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Wininger; half-brothers, Rick Wininger, Bobby Wininger and Mike Wininger.
