Deborah Louise Spurgeon Lienhoop, a lifelong resident of Bartholomew County, passed away on February 25, 2018, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1970, she then graduated from Purdue University in 1974 with a B.S. degree in early childhood education. She then earned her M.S. degree in education from Indiana University in May of 1978.

  1. Thinking of your family at this time. We hope you find peace in her passing with knowing she has entered Gods prepared place for her in heaven.

  2. Mrs. Lienhoop was our son’s kindergarten teacher. She was an amazing educator and sweet and thoughtful person. We are so sorry to hear about this. Our prayers are with the entire family as they mourn this loss.

  6. So sad to see a wonderful life cut short so early. Although I did not know Deborah, I’m sure I experienced a part of her that will live on through her son Josh. What a great legacy she left through him, a man of of outstanding character. God’s peace to Josh and the family.

  7. The summer after our senior year Debbie & I worked as cashiers at Hills Department Store. Although we only spoke occasionally over the years, 1970 was a summer of good memories. So sorry for your family’s loss.

  8. I am very sorry to hear of Debbie passing. I regret I will be unable to pay my respects. Some of my fondness memories are of the Lienhoop Christmas gatherings we had. Debbie always made me smile and laugh. Thoughts and prayers and love are with you all. God Bless

  9. Two of my children had Mrs. Lienhoop as their kindergarten teacher. She was wonderful teacher and always a favorite! She will be missed by many and we are so sorry to hear of your loss.

  14. Mrs. Leinhoop was an amazing person, and I loved every minute of her class. She has a large influence over my life at Rockcreek and far beyond. She instilled in me a love for learning and a love for people. She was much loved then, and continues to be! Many thoughts and prayers go out to you in this hard time. God bless!

  15. So sorry for your loss! She was a great teacher! I was in her class about 20 years ago! Now having a kindergartener myself, she had patience of steel! She really had a heart of gold!
