Debra R. Bluebaum
December 20, 1956 ~ June 17, 2022
Debra R. Bluebaum, 65, of Columbus, passed away on June 17, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Debbie was born December 20, 1956 in Columbus, the daughter of Donald F. and Delphia Mae Chambers Lucas.
She retired from DSI in 2010 after more then 40 years of service. When Debbie was younger, she enjoyed target shooting, as well as riding motorcycles, even though she was too short to easily bring the bike to a stop. Most of all, Debbie loved her children, grandchildren, and pets. They were the most important thing in her life, and a huge motivation to fight her continuing health issues. She was an intelligent, outspoken, headstrong, quick-witted woman, who had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone she saw was in need. She will be deeply missed, and the memories of her life will be deeply cherished by everyone who knew her.
Debbie is survived by her daughters, Corrie Bluebaum of Columbus and Krista (Todd) Bluebaum of Greensburg; grandchildren David Walby, Devin Jones, as well as Kaitlyn and Cameron Bluebaum; sisters Donna (Steve) McCue of Westport, and Dee (John) Bridgewater of Rosette, Wyoming; an “adopted” son Brian Reynolds of Taylorsville; as well as 10 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Masks are required while visiting the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Thor’s Pantry thru the Bartholomew County Humane Society.

So many wonderful and funny memories of working with Debbie over the years at DSI. Lunches at her house watching the OJ Simpson trial😄. She was outspoken, funny, caring and a wonderful friend to me. She loved her girls and those she cared about so much. She will be missed but glad to have wonderful memories of her.
Corrie and Krista, so sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing. Debbie was always so kind to me. I appreciated her sense of humor and her honest and direct approach:) I have many good memories of working with her at DSI. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
