Deletta Mae Briles

Deletta Mae Briles, 69, of Columbus, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Deletta was born May 26, 1947, to Elmer A. and Myrtle B. Anderson Smith. She married Duane M. Briles April 7, 1973. Deletta retired from Dorel and was a member of East Columbus Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, teaching acrylic painting and creating gift cards. Deletta loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deletta is survived by her husband, Duane M. Briles of 43 years; a daughter, Robin L. (Ronnie) Phillips of Columbus; a son, Ray B. (Angie) Phillips III of North Vernon; grandchildren, Rachel (Matt) Ross of North Vernon, Tyler Phillips of Tennessee and Taylor Dobbins of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Graci Ross and Gavin Ross. Deletta was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Elmer Wayne Smith; and a sister, Myletta Frazier.
