Dennis “Duke” Nalon Baker, 72, of Scipio, passed away on January 6, 2022 at home. Duke was born November 27, 1949 in Columbus, Indiana the son of Robert “Bob” Baker and Dorla Mims. He attended Columbus High School. He was a medicab driver for many years. He loved to play his drums, build model cars and being out in the yard. In keeping with Duke’s wishes, no services are planned. Survivors include his companion, Kim Curry of Scipio; sisters, Syvia Oathout of Columbus and Kathy (Mike) Ely of Pensacola, FL; daughters, Angel Dyette of Columbus, Sebrina (Sam) Garriott of Indianapolis, Saddie Baker of Indianapolis, Jean (Danny) Wood of Glasgow, Kentucky, Tonya Coomer of Knob Lick, Kentucky; sons, Dennis (Beverly) Baker of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Duke (Erica) Roll of Whiteland, Indiana; 20 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Diana Byrd, daughter, Mary Ann Jenkins, great granddaughter, Jazzilyn Jenkins and son-in-law, Nigel Dyette. Memorials may be made to Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home to help with final expenses. Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
