Calling will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 8:00 p.m. to celebrate Dennis' Life. Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Dennis M. "Staubie" Staublin, 60, of Scipio, died at 5:53 a.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home. Dennis was born August 16, 1954 in Columbus, the son of Theodore R. Staublin and Margaret J. Schafer Staublin. Dennis attended Columbus North and Lincoln Technical College. He retired from Cummins Engine Company after 35 years of service. Dennis had the greatest passion for Harley Davidson motor cycles and riding with his friends. Survivors include a companion, Eva H. Vawter of North Vernon; his mother, Margaret J. Staublin of Columbus; son, Brian Jason Staublin of Columbus; a grandson, Kyle Zachary Staublin of Columbus; a sister, Patsy Jane Vogel of Columbus; a niece, CJ Williams of Columbus; as well as several aunts and uncles.

Dennis worked for me at the Bakalar Cummins Facility in Columbus. I remember him as a big burley man with tremendous strength who loved to ride Harleys. I also remember his kindness and gentle ways as well. He was helpful, compassionate, and provided sage advice to those of us lucky enough to know him.
