Don D. Hughes, 86, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday October 28, 2020 at Columbus Transitional Care Center. He was born August 19, 1934 in Ripley County, Indiana to the late David H. and Mable Hughes.
Don was retired from Cummins Engine Company and Caltherm as an engineer.
Don is survived by his wife, Nancy (Mathews) Hughes; sons, Tim Hughes and John Hughes; daughters, Georgette Parks and Carolyn Sue Melton and a brother, Marlin Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Hughes; daughters, Helen Ruth Hughes and Mary Ellen Hughes and brothers, Raymond, David and Paul Hughes.
Per Don’s request, no services will be held and cremation was chosen.

I will always remember the ice cream social at Flatrock back in the day. As a kid I looked forward to the Cemetery Meeting because of the home cranked ice cream.
I always looked forward to our Thanksgiving Dinners for the Williams family.

Very sorry to hear of Uncle Don’s passing.
I have a lot of good memories of Uncle Don. Can’t forget the burnt hot dogs at the family unions.
