Don Garrett Townsend December 01, 1930 - September 21, 2006 Don was born December 1, 1930 to May and Harry Forrest Townsend. He passed away on September 21, 2006 at 9:10 P.M. He lived many places where his father was stationed in the army. He was born in the Philippine Islands and graduated from Punohou High School in Honolulu, Hawaii. At the University of Illinois he earned a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering before serving in the army for two years, mostly in Germany. He later earned a Masters Degree in Business at Ball State University. In 1955 he married Dorothy Leeper in York, PA and they moved to Anderson, IN where he worked for Delco Remy Division of General Motors. After retiring he enjoyed twelve years in Green Valley, AZ before moving back to IN. He lived his last four months at Four Seasons Retirement Center in Columbus, IN. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, their daughter Diana T. (Chris) Manners of Columbus, IN, their son Douglas Townsend of Sidney, OH, and a sister Harriet of Phoenix, AZ. He appreciated the caring staff at Four Seasons, and also the extra attention of Hospice of South Central Indiana, Inc. Funeral Information MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Four Seasons Chapel, 1901 Taylor Road, Columbus, IN 47203 with Rev. Norie Erickson officiating.
