Lienhoop, 83, of Columbus, died at 6:35 p.m. March 12, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.Donald was born February 16, 1934, in Bartholomew County, the son of Herman and Edna Scheidt Lienhoop. He married Norma Oliver August 3, 1956, and they were married for 60 years. Donald, Norma and their son, Steven, were the previous owners of Machinery Moving Inc., where he had the opportunity to work with Jean Tingely during the initial assembly of Chaos in the Commons Mall. He was also a part-time farmer, designed the landscaping around Lincoln Center Ice Skating Rink and worked at Grandview Lake as it was being built. He was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he sang in the men’s choir and was a member of the physical facilities committee.He liked the Cincinnati Reds, football and U.S. F. basketball and donated time and material for the First Christmas at First Christian Church. Donald also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. The funeral will be at noon, Thursday, March 16, 2017, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.Arrangements were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana through the funeral home.Survivors include his wife Norma; son, Steven (Deborah) Lienhoop of Columbus; grandchildren, Braige and Bryce Lienhoop and Jordan, Kaitlin and Jacob Lienhoop along with their mother, Amy Booher Lienhoop; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Scott Lienhoop; brothers, Louis, John and Norman “Gene” Lienhoop; and a sister, Pauline Britton.
