Don retired from Reliance Electric (formerly Reeves Pulley) after 44 years of service.

Beautiful in Blue was purchased for the family of Donald L. Spurgeon.
I met Mr and Mrs Spurgeon at St Peter’s Lutheran many years ago. Mrs was one of my sundays school teachers and mr served on many committees and boards with my father Archie. Then later I had the privilege and honor of taking care of Betty at the nursing home and Don was faithful visiting her everyday where we would have frequent chats. They were the true example of a Christian marriage and couple. They are now in heaven at the feet of Jesus, with clear minds, no pain and together once again. Archele Snyder Humes
I am sorry for your loss. My grandmother on my mother’s side of the family maiden name was Spurgeon. She died in Freetown when my mother was 3. I remember my mother talking about him and his father. I am sure I related to Donald. I share you loss.

I am sorry for your loss. I just happen to come across his obituary as it was on the back of my father’s obituary. He was a friend of my son Ethan Reynolds. He and Ethan met and even though my son was only 11 they immediately hit it off. They enjoyed talking about fishing, bird watching, and would eat ice cream together as Don told stories about his wife. Ethan would help him with yard work and keep his bird feeders filled. Sometimes he would even ride with him to run errands. We had him over for dinner and to meet Ethan’s grandparents and great grandparents. Don was a sweet man and we enjoyed watching his unique friendship with my son. Again, I am sorry for your loss.
