Donald W. "Hog" Reed, 69, of Taylorsville, died at 6:48 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born in Shelbyville May 7, 1942, the son of Richard M. and Mary Helen Gahimer Reed. He married Johannah Knapp November 26, 1971. She survives. Donald retired from Cummins Engine Company after 30 years in 1995. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed golf, fishing, NASCAR, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by daughters, Susan E. Warner of Columbus, Victoria L. Warner of Columbus, Rhesa M. (Thomas) Smith of Elizabethtown and Adrianne Dawn (Kevin) Green of Columbus; sons, Daniel L. (Sue) Reed of Mooresville, Michael L. (Jenny) Reed of Florida and Michael T. Warner of Alaska; brothers, Johnny M. Reed of Texas and Larry Reed of Texas; and eight grandchildren, including John Robert Smith, Tyler Wayne Smith and Scarlett Faith Green. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES: FUNERAL - will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating. CALLING - will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. BURIAL - will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS - may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
