Donna Lee F. Hilger February 24, 1944 - May 12, 2010 Donna Lee F. Hilger died at her home May 12, 2010. She is the daughter of Thomas E. Casey (deceased) and Dorothy Loos. Donna Lee was a resident of Columbus since 2004 and is survived by her husband, Edward M. Hilger. She was a member of Saint Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church. She was a lifetime member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Honorary Regent of the Joseph Hart Chapter in Columbus. She was a Vice Regent of the Mary Primrose Chapter in Fort Wayne. She held offices as Regent, Vice Regent and Chairman for the Indiana Debutants. The DAR provided additional outlets for her unending stream of creativity which she promoted with enthusiasm, commitment and persistence. Her commitment to the military and our country ranked just behind her commitment to her husband and family. She was a native of Norfolk, VA, and eventually moved to Fort Wayne, IN, where she was married July 16, 1971. She lived in Fort Wayne for 25 years and following that she spent 8 years in Farmington Hills, MI. She worked as a Personnel Consultant in Fort Wayne and in Farmington Hills. Her surviving children are Brian E. Hilger of Michigan, Rebekah Lee Hilger (Craig Kapfer) of California, Heinrich M. Hilger II (Melissa and soon to arrive Thor Aiden) of Brownsburg, IN, and her stepdaughters, Christine (Hilger) and Craig Ruskaup, and Julie (Hilger) and Bob Kimes of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her grandchildren are Ashley Kimes, Daniel Kimes, Emma Ruskaup and Ellee Ruskaup. She also is survived by her mother, Dorothy Loos of Columbus, IN, and brother, Thomas Pat Casey of Fort Wayne, IN. She dedicated her life to the love for God, her husband, and her family. Her pleasures were caring for her family with food and celebration. She will be missed by all that knew her. Funeral Information CALLING: Sunday, May 16, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street, Columbus, IN with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Celebration at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17th, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 1306 27th Street, Columbus, IN, with calling from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
