Donna M. Smith

Donna M. Smith, 62, of Edinburgh, passed away February 5, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. Donna was born February 9, 1959, in Columbus, the daughter of Norman and Earline Bennett George. She married Jeff Smith on August 8, 1981. Donna was employed at Hickory Creek at Columbus for 30 years before retiring as a CNA. She was an avid Colts fan, enjoyed traveling with her husband, and loved watching “Andy Griffith” and “The Waltons” every day with her daughter. Most of all, Donna loved spending time with her family. She especially loved her dogs “Rusty Rabbit” and “Axel”, whom she lovingly called “Sweet’um Pies”. Donna is survived by her husband Jeff; with whom she celebrated 40 years of marriage this last August; her children Teresa L. (Sean) McGraw of Columbus, Amanda Jo Smith of Edinburgh, and Daniel G. (Rebecca) Smith of Nineveh; grandchildren Brittney Smith, Brianna Smith, Cadance McGraw, Brayden Smith, Tyler Barnhorst, Alex Barnhorst, and Jasmine Smith; as well as a sister Debbie (Darrin) Fowler of Greensburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; as well as two brothers Rick and Kenny George. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh. Memorial donations may be made to any animal charity of your choosing.
