Dora Jane Leonard

Dora Jane Leonard, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Columbus, IN, at 76. She was born in Kentucky on December 6, 1947, to the late John R. Patton and Otella Woodall Patton. She was the wife of Gary Wane Leonard, whom she married on June 28, 1983. Dora spent over two decades as a laborer at Saps Bakery, and her interests extended beyond her work where she enjoyed fishing; finding joy and tranquility by the water. She is survived by her stepson, David Leonard; son-in-law, James Stiening; and her grandchildren, Greg Baker, Joshua Miller, Kimberly Ferguson, Jessica Miller, Haven Griffith, Tristian Nicholson, Daily Leonard, and Elizabeth Leonard. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, John and Otella Patton; her husband, Gary Leonard; her daughters, Susie Stiening, and Theresa Miller; her brothers, Robert and William Patton; her sisters, Eula Whitis and Carol Barmore; and her grandchildren, Brian and Shawn Miller. A graveside service to honor the life of Dora Jane Leonard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Garland Brook Cemetery, and will be officiated by Rev. Gerald Hancock.
