Pearson, 81, of Flintwood Drive, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Four Seasons Retirement Center. Dorence was employed in quality control at Cummins Engine Company for 29 years. He loved golfing, fishing and horse racing. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Dorence devoted his life to helping other people especially his family. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. Born in Houston, IN., Oct. 23, 1932, Dorence was the son of Roy Pearson and Mable Mitchell Pearson. He married Dorothy "Bonnie" Ryan Dec. 19, 1953. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melissa Pearson Vardzik of Columbus; brothers, Gene Pearson and Marvin Pearson of Seymour, IN; grandchildren, Dustin J. King of Myerstown, PA, and Aaron L. King of Lancaster, PA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, including his twin brother, Lawrence Pearson.   1. When I joined Cummins in 1970 I was being introduced to various people at Plant 1. In the morning I met Larry Pearson then in the afternoon met Dorence. Because they were twins I thought I was being introduced to the same person again and commented on it. It brought a laugh because it was something the brothers were used to. May both RIP.

  2. Bonnie & Melissa – Tim & I are so very sad at the loss of Dorrie. We will remember him for his smile and outgoing personality, and of course for conventions with the Moose. You have our deepest sympathy and prayers.
