SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 2, 2013 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home OFFICIATING: Larry Calhoun FINAL RESTING PLACE: Ninevah Christian Church Cemetery VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home MEMORIALS: Bartholomew County Veterans of Foreign Wars Dorothy J. Inabnitt Herron, 78, of Timbercrest Drive, died at 2:22 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Dorothy lived her early life around Trafalgar, IN, attending school in Trafalgar where she was a cheerleader, president of her sophomore class and a member of the Sun Shine Society and the Girls Athletic Society. She was a Brownie leader for five years in Nineveh and had been a Bible school leader at Fairhaven Christian Church where she was a member. She had lived in Columbus since 1968 and had been employed at several restaurants, including Driftwood Inn and Country Kitchen. She was an employee of the VFW since 1984 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 40 years where she held many chairs in the ladies auxiliary. Born in Indianapolis March 19, 1934, Dorothy was the daughter of Soloman Inabnitt and Ora Easter Dugger Inabnitt. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Bobby J. Edmonds, C. Wayne Bensheimer and James Lawson. She is survived by sons, Richard M. (Carol) Edmonds of Seymour, IN, Gary L. Bensheimer of Franklin, IN, and Michael David Edmonds of Columbus, IN; daughters, Joyce L. Edmonds of Winchester, KY, Karen K. Mercer of Nineveh, IN, Donna M. (Roger Dean) Bensheimer of Seymour, IN, Beverly J. (Steve) Wilson of Columbus, IN, and Janet R. (Tom) Acton of Columbus, IN; a sister, Ora Mae Conrad of Milltown, IN; brothers, David Lee (Arlene) Inabnitt of Franklin, IN, and William Thomas (Barbara) Inabnitt of California; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.

I will always remember you for the kindness you always showed me and your strength. My prayer for your family is that God’s Angels of Comfort will take each one of your children and loved ones into thier arms and hold them through these difficult days ahead.
