Dorothy J. Roth August 29, 1923 - September 12, 2009 Dorothy J. Roth, 86, of Columbus, Ind., died at 3:13 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Millers Merry Manor in Hope, Ind. Mrs. Roth was a member of Bethel Holiness Church. Dorothy was a christian 50 years and loved going to church. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed her bible studies and read the Bible completely through annually. She enjoyed antiques and going to auctions. She found satifaction helping and caring for others in need. She loved being with her family and friends. She maintained a positive outlook all through her life even in the most difficult times. Mrs. Roth was born August 29, 1923 in Bartholomew County, Ind., the daughter of George Knulf and Helen Cooley Kissling. She married Jack L. Roth on February 15, 1943. Survivors include a son, Dean W. (Vicki) Roth of Columbus, Ind.; a daughter, Karen L. (James) Reed of Elizabethtown, Ind.; grandchildren, Griff A. Roth, Julie K. Messina, Jamey E. Reed, Melissa L. Reed, Amanda M. Rice, Tiffany L. Jewell, Christopher L. Anderson, W. Logan Roth, R. Scott Lee and Kristi M. Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Roth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack L. Roth, on October 25, 2002; a son, Larry E. Roth; a daughter, Shauna K. Anderson; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Knulf. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Jewell Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Shockley and the Rev. Robert E. Thompson officiating. The Rev. Ron Bridgewater will be vocalist. VISITATION: Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
