Dorothy Kovach September 27, 1926 - March 07, 2010 Dorothy Kovach, 83, of Lakeside Drive, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Dorothy was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, relocating to Columbus in 1968. She was a teacher's aide for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation for 20 years before retirement. A member and volunteer at Bartholomew County Senior Center in Columbus, she was a devoted wife and mother, was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and needlepoint crafts. Born in Chicago Sept. 27, 1926, Mrs. Kovach was the daughter of Andrew and Susan Popovich Giczi. She married Casper Kovach Oct. 11, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1985. She is survived by sons, Michael Kovach and James (Sandra) Kovach, both of Columbus; a daughter, Karin France of Spring, Texas; a granddaughter, Katelin Kovach of Columbus; a sister, Irene Chamberlain of Wylie, Texas; nieces, Katharine Chamberlain of Austin, Texas, Patricia Chamberlain of Aubrey, Texas, and Susan Sobieski and Nancy Frantz, both of Citrus Springs, Fla.; and a nephew, John Sobieski of Citrus Springs, Fla. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Evelyn Brown officiating. CALLING: 5 p.m. until service time Wednesday.
