Edward Ray Stamps

Edward Ray Stamps, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday November 16, 2021 at Greenwood Meadows. He was born October 2, 1940 in Auburn, Kentucky. Ed was formerly a member of the Mountain Baptist Church of Seymour and the First United Methodist Church of Columbus. He was currently a member of the Vineyard Community Church of Indianapolis and his faith was very important to him. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed helping others. He enjoyed crafts and bingo. Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday November 20, 2021 in the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Elisha Hale officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Joyce, in Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ed is survived by his daughter, Mary M.D. (Jeffrey) McInteer of Indianapolis; sons, Ray (Marsha) Stamps of Indianapolis, Timothy (Jayne) Stamps of North Carolina, Glenn (Lisa) Stamps of Virginia and Jeremy (Jill) Stamps of Columbus; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Pfieffer Stamps, his parents, Herbert J. and Queen Victoria (Porter) Stamps and 11 brothers.
