Elaine Marie Barnsfather, 79, of Columbus, passed away 12:55 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center, Franklin, IN. Elaine was born in Columbus on April 21, 1943 to Ernest Rambo and Marie Hobson Rambo. Elaine retired from Human Services. She was a member of Moose Lodge #398, VFW #1987 and American Legion Post 24 all of Columbus. Elaine enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Branum officiating. Calling will be from 5 p.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Survivors, include her sons, Brian (Laura) Barnsfather and Greg (Lisa) Barnsfather both of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Brian Barnsfather Jr. and Nicholas Shandik; great grandchildren, Cash Shandik and Zoey Barnsfather; a sister, Ruth Lynn of Columbus, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marie Rambo; son, Robbie Shandik; grandson, Zachary Barnsfather; brother, Ernest “Bucky” Rambo; sister, Mary Jane Bowles

  4. My heart goes out to Ruth, Brian, Laura, Greg, Lisa, and the rest of the family. I was blessed to know Elaine, and I have so many great memories of her (her spunk most of all). I think of her every time I make her banana and pumpkin bread during the holidays. I pray time brings you peace and comfort.
